TeamViewer Offers Remote Support with Augmented Reality

TeamViewer created an interesting AR (augmented reality) experience for those visiting its booth at the recent WCIT 2019 in Yerevan.

AR enables one to fix issues beyond the screen.

With this new solution one can see a partner’s smartphone camera via the connection, observe any kind of equipment, machinery, infrastructure issues, and guide the partner by setting 3D markers onto real-world objects.

The camera acts as eyes for the customer, enabling one to see the problem and help the person address it on-site.

TeamViewer also integrates with smart glasses. This means that, in addition to screen sharing, a supporter can also help his/her colleagues by interacting with the augmented contents of the smart glasses.

Another interesting project introduced by TeamViewer was a remotely controllable robot that simulates different movements. The most widespread application is the use of the robot in labs where the human access is somewhat restricted.

TeamViewer is heavily investing in IoT and has a team of 70 developers dedicated only to IoT in Armenia. Thus, its presence in Armenia is big, with over 200 employees.
