311,264 tourists arrived in Armenia in the first quarter of this year, down 14.6% when compared to the same period in 2019.

Armenia’s Statistical Committee reports that the number of tourists traveling abroad from Armenia in the first quarter of 2020 is also down when compared to 2019.

 275,716 left Armenia in the first three months of this year,13.3% less than in the first quarter of last year.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (WHO) methodology, an international tourist is a person who travels to another place from his/her main place of residence for no less than 24 hours, or more than one year straight, for business, leisure, medical treatment, visiting relatives, business, religious or other purposes.
