A civic group claims that the entrance to the Mozrov cavern, located near Yeghegnadzor, has collapsed.

The group, “We Will Not Be Silent”, reports that Sargis Hovhannisyan, President of the Young Cavern Specialists Union, has also raised the alarm.

The news has been confirmed by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, which reports that it received word from the mayor of Gnishik that a collapse had occurred at around 12:30 this afternoon.

No causalities have been reported.

Mozrov Cave runs to a depth of nearly 300 m and are are full of exquisite stalagmite and stalactite formation. It is registered on the RA Ministry of Culture’s list of historical and cultural monuments.
