Armenian Defense Ministry representative Artsrun Hovhannisyan today described Azerbaijan as “a very strong enemy”, noting that Armenian forces have no other option but winning.

“The regular army, volunteers and reservists are inflicting heavy losses to the Azerbaijani armed forces every day. The artillery stands out. But victories are not easy everywhere,” he said at this evening’s Yerevan press briefing.

The official said that heavy fighting in the southern direction of Artsakh continued all day, and that Armenian forces had regrouped in spots. Hovhannisyan said that   fighting is still going on in the south

Referring to medical treatment given to an Azerbaijani POW, the official said, “We are human beings with a corresponding valued system. We’re not hyenas.”

Hovhannisyan said that a large-scale Azerbaijani offensive along the northern Line of Contact was repulsed without any territorial losses.

Armenian forces also managed to destroy several Azerbaijani aircraft, he said.
