Nine Armenians on Forbes 2023 Billionaires List

Nine Armenians have made it on the Forbes 2023 list of the world’s richest people that includes such names as Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Warren Buffet.

Forbes reports that nearly half of all 2,640 billionaires are poorer than they were a year ago.

Altogether, the planet’s billionaires are now worth $12.2 trillion, a drop of $500 billion from $12.7 trillion in March 2022.

The nine Armenians, in order of wealth, are:

#905: Sergei Galitsky (Arutyunyan) is the founder of Magnit, one of Russia's biggest supermarket chains and cosmetics retailers with more than 26,000 stores. (Net Worth - $3.2B)

#1,104: Samvel Karapetyan owns $2.8 billion (sales) Tashir Holding, a commercial real estate developer. (Net Worth - $2.7B)

#1,368: Albert Avdolyan owns Far East and Siberian coal mining and gas companies. (Net Worth - $2.2B)

#1,434: Artem Khachatryan cofounded Russian discount retailer Fix Price in 2007. The chain has opened more than 4,000 stores in Russia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus, Latvia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. (Net Worth - $2.1B)

#1,516: Russian entrepreneur Andrey Andreev (Andrey Ogadzhanyantshas), has built five online dating sites and apps since 2004: Mamba, Badoo, Bumble, Chappy and Lumen. (Net Worth - $2B)

#1,575: Eduardo Eurnekian. Under his Corporacion America, Eurnekian and partners own more than 50 airports around the world, with reported revenues of more than $1.5 billion. (Net Worth - $1.9B)

#1,804: Noubar Afeyan is the founder and CEO of Cambridge, Mass. life sciences innovation firm Flagship Pioneering and chairman and cofounder of biotech firm Moderna. (Net Worth - $1.6B).

#2,259: Kim Kardashian has parlayed reality TV stardom into a ten-figure fortune, the vast majority of which comes from her stake in Skims, her shapewear business. (Net Worth - $1.2B).

#2,259: Ruben Vardanyan, known as the father of the Russian stock market, cofounded investment company Troika Dialog in the early 1990s.
