Daniel Arutyunov, founder of the Scream of Soul initiative, has organized skating tours on lakes in Armenia for the past three years.

"Unfortunately, our season is very short, 1.5 to 2 months. If weather conditions allow, we try to organize a tour every Saturday or Sunday to different destinations in Armenia: Aparan Reservoir, Azat Reservoir, Lake Sevan. This year, the safest ice is in Lake Sevan," he tells Hetq.

Ice needs to be 10 cm thick to skate safely. Arutyunov has delineated an area of Sevan where the ice is 15cm thick, or more.
