Bagratyan Calls on Sargsyan and Hovannisian to Meet and Break the Deadlock
Hrant Bagratyan, who came in a distant third in the February 18 presidential election, has called on Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian to quickly sit down and find a way out of the current deadlock.
Bagratyan issued the call on his Facebook page.
“Once again we’ve had an election that wasn’t free or fair. Once again, Freedom Square is full of people. The experience of 1996, 2003 and 2008 has shown that the people, unable to achieve vicroy thoriug constitutional (election) means, revolts. People want to safeguard their vote. That is their just and constitutional right.”
Bagratyan continues that while he has always supported the belief that revolutionary action is unavoidable if reforms are impossible to achieve through legal means, this time around the situation is different.
“I see the willingness of the representatives of the regime and the opposition to engage in dialogue and negotiate,” Bagratyan writes.
He says that it would be wrong to pass up such an opportunity.
Bagratyan attended yesterday’s rally in Freedom Square and conferred with Raffi Hovannisian.
