Armenian Protester Dies in Kiev Euromaidan Civil Unrest

Ethnic Armenian Sergei Nigoyan was killed last night in clashes with police in Ukraine.

Four bullets were found in twenty-year-old Sergei's body, "Ukrainskaya Pravda" reports: in his head, and on his neck and chest. Sergei was participating in the anti-government protests against not only the Ukrainian authorities for refusing to sign the EU Association Agreement, but also a new law that would limit the right to protest.

According to the Ukrainian publication, Sergei was born and raised in the village of Bereznovatovka in the region of Dnipropetrovsk. On Dec. 8, 2013, he came to Kiev to participate in the Euromaidan protests.

Until then he had gone to the city of Dnipropetrovsk, but, not seeing any protests, he bought a train ticket to Kiev. Asked why he came to participate in the Euromaidan, he said, "This is also my future. I am going to live in this country."

Ukrainian media also reports that on Jan. 20 a Ukrainian citizen fell from the stadium in Kiev and died while in intensive care.
