Regarding the recent decision of the Millennium Challenge Corporation to halt funding of its $67 million road rehabilitation in Armenia, Prosperous Party of Armenia Deputy Nayira Zohrabyan stated that she was saddened by the decision and asked whether such a sanction would help Armenia overcome its problems in the long-term. "We must ask ourselves whether the implementation of this sanction will assist in the removal of the problems faced by our country," Deputy Zohrabyan asked at today's parliamentary news briefing. She termed the decision as a form of punishment speculating that it might also be based on the May 31 Yerevan municipal elections. The deputy said that she didn't believe that there is a political crisis in Armenia but confessed that the PAP has openly declared that "our electoral culture has been fractured".
