Former Nubarashen Students Protest Light Sentence Given to "Sex Crimes" Teacher

Tomorrow, the Criminal Appeals Court will hear the case of the former students of the Nubarashen #11 School for Special Needs. The plaintiffs are protesting the two year sentence handed down by the Erebuni and Nubarashen Administrative Court to Levon Avagyan, a former teacher at the school, found guilty of engaging in licentious behaviour with some of the students. The case has led to a series of investigations and dismissals of school staff. Many agree with the plaintiffs that the sentences handed down are way too lenient considering the nature of the crimes committed.
