"Serzhik Get Lost": Opposition Faction Leader Rules Out Any Cooperation with President

Armenian National Congress (HAK) parliamentary faction leader Levon Zurabyan effectively brushed aside the response of President Sargsyan to a 12 point list of opposition demands as ‘meaningless’.

Zurabyan told Hetq that the opposition’s response to such presidential statements was one and the same – “Serzhik get lost”.

Zurabyan’s comments come one day after Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan described the 12 point list of demands made by four non-coalition parties as more of an ultimatum than a basis for possible cooperation.

Sargsyan said that he had read the list and chided the drafters with a degree of impatience and making omissions in its composition.

When asked whether the four parties conveyed a sense of urgency and omissions in the drafting of the list, Zurabyan replied: “Yes, there is one omission in the text. It’s that we didn’t demand the resignation of Serzh Sargsyan. But we will correct this.”

Zurabyan said that the non-coalition drafters of the list have no intention of cooperating with the president and never will.

“What cooperation are we talking about? Has there ever been such cooperation? There can never be any cooperation with this regime. Those twelve points were demands. How can presenting demands be regarded as cooperation.”
