Armenian Government Will Ensure Health Insurance for Those in Need
Armenian Prime Minister today held a consultative meeting with government officials regarding the provision of adequate health services to those lacking the resources to pay for such services.
Pashinyan, according to a government press release, said that the government must find solutions so that those in need of medical treatment are not turned away.
He stressed the need to better monitor the allocation of state funds to the health sector, so as to raise their effectiveness, and to iron out continuing problems in the insurance market.
Pashinyan said that such steps would increase government spending, but that it is the obligation of the state to cover such expenditures.
“At a minimum, in the first stage, we plan to ensure health insurance for socially vulnerable citizens, so that they can obtain full or partial coverage,” Pashinyan said.
