There is only one garbage dump for the six villages (Garni, Goght, Geghard, Hatsavan, Geghadir and Voghjaberd) in the Garni administrative district. It takes up four hectares in the village of Garni. The village mayor says that the trash is burnt once or twice monthly, and later covered with dirt, to make room for the trash to come. Only one garbage truck serves all six villages. Residents in the area have created their own dumps where household trash and construction debris is dumped.
