ARF Candidate Claims “No Comment”

With a mere 4.65% share of yesterday’s election vote, the ARF failed to hit the 7% threshold for city council representation.

When we tried to get ARF candidate Artzvik Minasyan to comment on yesterday’s vote results he responded with “no comment”. He said that the ARF’s Supreme Council would issue a statement today.

We have received reports that there are already lines of voters outside the Shengavit #97 school that serves as polling station2 11/31 and 11/32. Police are on the scene monitoring the situation.


771,477 Registered Voters in Yerevan Municipal Elections

ARF’s Artzvik Minasyan – New Yerevan Mayor Must Represent Opposition

27_04-a-rustamyanARF MP Armen Roustamyan said today that elections in Armenia had become a business and that most voters regarded the elections as a way to make money rather than an opportunity to choose a new government.

Mr. Roustamyan stated that rather than spending huge amounts on election bribes an auction should be declared with some of the funds used to buy property and the rest going to solve the social problems faced by the electorate.

Protestors Demand Resignation of RoA Foreign Minister

22_05-puchikYesterday, Eleanora Manandyan and Gayaneh Yesayan, members of the “New Armenia” NGO governing board, protested outside the Foreign Affairs Ministry building in Yerevan and called for the resignation of RoA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan.

They say they are concerned with the current foreign policy of Armenia which they see as undignified and demeaning, and which has led to a drop in Armenia’s worldwide reputation. »»»»»
