Yearly, More Pollutants Being Emitted into Armenia’s Atmosphere

Yearly, more air pollutants are being released in Armenia. This is what the country’s National Statistical Service (NSS) is reporting.

Pollutant emissions have increased by 7,000 tons over the period 2010 – 2014.

Since the year 2000, pollutant emissions have increased by 43% (115,300 tons).

In 2014, emissions into the atmosphere comprised 270,900 tons; 52.6% came from vehicles and 47.4% from stationary sources of emission.

From 2010-2014, 265,000 tons of pollutants have been emitted into Armenia’s atmosphere on a yearly average

Provinces in Armenia experiencing highest pollutant emissions from stable sources.

Lori – 43% (38,700 tons)

Kotayk – 22% (20,000 tons)

Tavoush – 19% (17,000 tons)

Yerevan – 16% (14,000 tons)

Overall, from 2010-2014, 1,325 tons of pollutants have been emitted into Armenia’s atmosphere.

From 2010-2014,  corporations emitted 30,000 tons of pollutants into the atmosphere.
