13:20, February 6, 2012According to Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party parliamentary faction head Heghine Bisharyan, the opposition based Armenian National Congress has broad-based support and will definitely win a number of seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In a statement Bisharyan released to the press, the MP says that due to years of constant work, the ANC has won the following of a certain segment of the public that will ensure its presence in the new parliament.
As regards her own party, Bisharyan noted that the Rule of Law will nominate candidates that do not possess glaring “business” credentials.
She argued that there are business entrepreneurs in the ranks of all political forces, but that these aren’t to be lumped together with the oligarchs of repute. Bisharyan added that it won’t be easy to rid Armenia of its oligarchic system.
She said that the main focus of her party’s actions was to create the supremacy of law in Armenia and where enacted laws are actually applied.
In the 2013 presidential election, Rule of Law, a junior coalition partner, will be backing the re-election of current President Serzh Sargsyan.
