Yerevan - Mashtots Park, March 31
These are photos taken by Karen Minasyan. You’ll see a cordon of Yerevan police protecting newly constructed stores in one of the city’s few remaining green spaces.
Activists have turned the site into a focal point of community action and protest. People are saying “enough is enough”.
The guys with the yellow hard hats declared that they were ready to dismantle the stores if the cops let them in. Naturally, local law enforcement kept them from getting close.
Several hundred activists and curious onlookers, including the press, were out in force.
Today, in Armenia, Mashtots Park has become ground zero in the confrontation between citizens and the government.
