Government Officials Go "On Vacation" to Circumvent Campaigning Restrictions
Here’s another piece of news that will surely raise some eyebrows.
Recently, some 30 deputy ministers, regional governors and their deputies have filed applications for vacation time.
Why now, you might ask.
Simply put, it’s a convenient way to get around the restrictions placed on them as government functionaries when it comes to campaigning in the run-up to the May parliamentary elections.
If they are officially on vacation, then the restrictions can’t be enforced.
They can hit the campaign trail to their heart’s desire.
