The slander suit filed by Ara Gabuzyan, Head of Chair of Criminal Law of YSU Faculty of Law Ara Gabuzyan, against Banadzev Ltd. and Sirak Yeghiazaryan, continued today in a Yerevan court.

The plaintiff argues that an article entitled “Law-Breaking Lawyer” that appeared in the Banadzev website was defamatory and smeared the good name of the YSU’s Faculty of Criminal Law.

No new motions were presented during today’s trial.

Grigor Belmezyan, the attorney representing co-plaintiffs Gabuzyan and the YSU Faculty Criminal Law, expressed a desire to present a petition signed byYerevanStateUniversitystudents stating that they view the Banadzev article as defamatory.

The statement was not attached to the court file as evidence given that the plaintiff was under no obligation to present evidence on his behalf.

The litigants will be informed as to the date of the next trial session.
