12:13, May 24, 2012Gagik Tsaroukyan, who heads the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), stated today that the party does not believe it would be expedient to enter into any government coalition.
The statement puts to rest weeks of speculation that BHK, after coming in second in the May 6 parliamentary elections, would hold out for cabinet posts and other favors in return for entering into a government collation with the Republican Party.
“As a result of the parliamentary elections, BHK received some 500,000 votes. Those people voted in favour of the BHK, confiding in us and demanding real, visible changes in their socio-economic lives.”
Tsaroukyan promised that the BHK parliamentary faction would be very active and effective and that the party’s MPs would do everything to defend the rights and interests of the people.
