Hillary Clinton to Visit Armenia and Turkey
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to visit Armenia as part of her 8 day trip to Scandinavia, the Caucasus and Turkey.
The first stop on Clinton’s May 31-June 7 trip will be Scandinavia where she will largely focus on environmental issues.
From there, Clinton will travel to Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, where the State Department says she would discuss "regional security, democracy, economic development and counterterrorism."
One topic sure to come up in Armenia and Azerbaijan is their conflict over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Clinton ends her trip in Istanbul on June 7, speaking at a counterterrorism forum and holding talks with Turkish officials on Syria.
