14:50, July 11, 2012Goryun Nahapetyan, who heads the RA National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, stated today that his committee wasn’t planning to discuss the Harsnakar Restaurant incident any time soon.
Ruben Hayrapetyan, the owner of the restaurant and an MP himself, sits on this committee.
Despite declaring that he would resign his parliamentary seat on moral grounds, Hayrapetyan officially remains an MP.
National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan has rejected a proposal by opposition legislators to organize a special hearing on the matter.
