11:58, August 18, 2012Since running the brand train "Armenia" of CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" transported 30,575 passengers on Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan route. This figure is 18.9% higher than in 2011, when in the period from June 15 to August 16 25,705 passengers were transported.
Overall, in the period from 1 June to August 16 39,005 tickets of the brand train "Armenia" were sold, which is 27.3% above last year's figure of 30,646 tickets.
However, only in the period from the 1st to the 16th of August 14 487 passengers were transported (up 35.9% compared to the same period last year) and 10,893 tickets sold (up 57.7%).
On the average, since August almost 1,000 passengers are daily transported in destination Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan.
Passengers flow increased due to SCR consequentially flexible tariff policy and policies to improve the quality of passenger service and comfort level in trains. Measures are taken to upgrade the rolling stock on the railway, as well as expanding the list of services, increasing the speed of trains.
