“Bjni” Water Buyer – No One has a Monopoly on Morality

At a press conference held today, Ruben Hayrapetyan, a National Assembly Deputy and President of the Armenian Football Federation, who recently purchased the “Bjni” water bottling plant, responded to reports appearing in the press regarding the auction sale carried out by the government.

“I believe I did the right thing by buying that plant. I have carried out your wish so that quite a number of people aren’t left jobless during this economic crisis,” claimed Mr. Hayrapetyan and advised that “people shouldn’t play footsy with the government.”

“I purchased the plant from the government and I think I paid a fairly high price. If the Sukiasyans are going to petition the European Court, or whatever court they wish on another planet, if there is a verdict handed down then we must abide by it. But the issue shouldn’t be politicized. One year later we’ll see whether it was a poltical move on my part or an economic one,” noted the parliamentary deputy.

He also urged those speaking from an assumed position of morality, “To take a look back and see what they have purchased or grabbed in the past. Was what they did moral? I they can bring themselves to confess what they did was immoral, then I’ll do the same.” He added that he was referring to the directors of the very same Sil Concern firm. “It is known to all how they acquired their holdings. It would behoove you all to look back to the years 1992-1998 and you will see by what methods they purchased their holdings, including the “Bjni” plant.
