Bill Passes in Parliament Despite ARF's Reservations

Minutes ago, Armenia’s National Assembly got down to work

105 legislators registered but some encountered technical difficulties and had to request assistance before being able to sign in.

A bill on amending the procedural code of the National Assembly passed after the first reading by a vote of 97 in favor, 4 against and 3 abstentions.

The law envisages giving opposition members the opportunity to participate in the activities of all the standing committees.

Before the vote, ARF MP Armen Roustamyan declared that his party would be voting against the bill and demanded that it be debated first.

Roustamyan stated that the ARF would vote in favor if its suggestions were incorporated in the bill.
