“Armenia” Train to Black Sea Coast Closes For the Season

The  “Armenia” train, plying the Yerevan-Batumi route, will make it last trip to the Black Sea shore on October 1.

According to preliminary data, since the start of the summer season the train has transported 50,300  passengers. This is an increase from the  42,100 in 2011.

This summer, for the first time, passengers could purchase tickets online for "Armenia" train. Also a buffet car was included in the train and a dining car is planned for the future.

As of October 2, the train will service the Yerevan-Tbilisi route. The brand train "Armenia" of Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan route will resume next summer.

CJSC "SCR" is growing the volume of international passenger traffic year by year.  Compared to January-September 2008, for the first 9 months 2012 , overall volume has increased by 296% and 591% on the Yerevan-Batumi-Yerevan route alone.
