Aris Shirvanian is man once met never forgotten. He is not only a good man but also a great teacher. Undoubtedly, he would make an excellent patriarch.

In the late 1960's and early 1970's, as a Deacon, I was privileged to serve as then Fr. Aris Shirvanian's Pastoral Assistant at St. James Armenian Church in Los Angeles.. It was truly a learning experience with a great teacher. Fr. Aris came into the parish when there was much internal dissention. When he left the pastorate to go to Holy Etchmiadzin, he left a united parish with a new church. He is truly a good shepherd and I believe he would make an excellent patriarch.
