Earlier today RA National Assembly President Hovik Abrahamyan hinted that there might be a referendum to make changes to the constitution parallel with the presidential election next February.

For quite some time, the press in Armenian has been rife with speculation that the constitution would be amended in order to strengthen the institution of the deputy prime minister and that there could be several instead of the current one.

Abrahamyan said that the ruling Republican Party had debated the matter but hadn’t yet reached a final decision.
