It appears that damage to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex in Der Zor, Syria, was the result of artillery clashes in the area and not from a targeted attack.

Videos of the damage have been circulating on YouTube and other social media networks.

In a statement released today by the Great House of Cilicia. Catholicos Aram I spoke to the Armenian Church Diocese in Aleppo and was appraised as to the extent of the damage. The church leader said the complex was not looted.
