Ministry Concedes: Controversial Nominee Won't Become Khosrov Reserve Director
Armenia’s Ministry of the Environment has announced that Gabriel Poghosyan will not be appointed director of the Khosrov State Forest Reserve even though he won a recent competition for the vacant post.
Poghosyan’s candidacy was criticized by many who argued that the man was not fit for the job and that the nomination procedure was a rush job by the government.
The ministry reports that Poghosyan himself had asked that his name be withdrawn, citing public criticism and the fact that he had other pressing commitments.
