Manhunt Underway for 3rd Suspect in Murder of American-Armenian Businessman Nazaret Berberian

According to Ashot Karapetyan, Chief of the Kentron Police Division, a third suspect has been identified in the murder case of American-Armenian businessman Nazaret Berberian. While the suspect’s name cannot be revealed due to the on-going investigation, Chief Karapetyan says that the individual is still in Armenia.

Berberian went missing last April 25. He left his Yerevan apartment and was never seen again. His mutilated body was discovered twenty days later, buried in a gully along the Yerevan-Sevan highway.

Three people have thus been indicted in the murder of Berberian. Petros Temiryan, a friend of the slain Berberian, was the first to be arrested in the case, shortly after the businessman went missing. It was he who led police to the body. The other suspect, Karen Dallakyan, was picked up several months later in Moscow.

Dallakyan was a friend of Temiryan. Chief Karapetyan claims that Dallakyan played more of a role in the murder than Temiryan.

Chief Karapetyan says that the case against the first two suspects will be sent to the courts either at the end of this month or early in February. A manhunt for the third is underway.
