Students Stage 2nd Day of Walk-Outs: Not All Agree

Hundreds of college students in Yerevan have gathered outside the main campus of Yerevan state University for a second day of walk-outs.

Another group of students, arriving early for class, approached the strikers and told them “if this was an ideological movement, one hour would suffice to get their message across”.

“This is not the 1988 movement, it’s not a national reawakening,” argued one of the critics. “If the movement was raising the issue of Artsakh or the Genocide, only then could it be regarded as a national movement. The majority don’t see it as such.”

The striking students then made their way to the Yerevan State Teachers College. They left under a chorus of “get lost” chants from the opposing side.
