Will Sargsyan "Sack" Armavir Mayor over Election Loss?

The rumor mill has it that President Serzh Sargsyan is not ready to accept the resignation request tendered by Armavir Mayor Khlghatyan.

We should note that in Armavir, Sargsyan lost to Raffi Hovannisian in the February 18 presidential election.

We tried to get some clarification from Armavir Regional Governor Ashot Ghahramanyan, who steered the special session of the Armavir Municipal Council during which Khlghatyan handed in his resignation.

Ghahramanyan’s assistant informed Hetq that we would have to file a formal inquiry.
