Human Rights Defender Urges Government to Ensure Access to Physically Impaired Voters

Armenia’s Human Rights Defender has urged RA Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan to take immediate action to ensure proper access to polling stations for citizens with physical impairments.

Karen Andreasyan stated that he had received numerous complaints from voters and various NGOs that the majority of polling precincts lacked the necessary accessibility features as required by Armenian law and the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
