The ‘Median Day of Lent’ (mid-Lent, or Michink) was celebrated at the Surb Echmiadzin Church  in Avlabari, Tbilisi.

Michink is celebrated during the middle of lent to encourage people to persevere until the end of lent.

An evening Divine Service was held after which the spiritual fathers of the church consecrated the traditional festive pastry (gata). Members of the ensemble "Ani", which trains at the "Hayartun" Center Cultural, distributed the pastry to the church faithful.

Adhering to the folk traditions of the holiday "Michink", crosses brought from Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin were put in the pastry. Those who  found the holiday gift in their pastry were pleasantly surprised at their good fortune.

The church clergy expressed their gratitude to this year's Godfather of the Cross Erik Safaryan and to Larisa Harutyunyan, a member of youth association, for greatly assisting in the organization of the holiday.
