Police have confirmed that the writer Vrezh Israelyan committed suicide today in Yerevan.

It is reported that Israelyan, born in 1949, had been diagnosed with metastatic cancer days ago.

Israelyan’s family had started to make arrangements for him to receive treatment in Europe.
