Cops Prevent Activists from Setting Up Tents Opposite Yerevan Municipality

A free for all broke out today in front of the Yerevan Municipality as transit fare activists tried to set up some tents and cops rushed in to stop them.

The protestors have been camped out at the Municipality for several days now, demanding the dismissal of the Transportation Department head and another official.

During the melee, activist Argishti Kviryan, was detained by police and transferred to a local station.

Cops probably outnumbered the activists by a ratio of ten to one.

In past days, Municipality employees have turned on the sprinklers to dissuade the protestors from standing vigil near the building’s entrance.

Afterwards, the activists marched towards the police station where Kviryan was being held.

Why are there so many different (from Soviet embrella size to baseball caps) hats wearing police divisions in Hayastan?
