"Golden Apricot" To Showcase Films From "Margaret Mead Festival"

During this year's 6th Annual "Golden Apricot Film Festival" in Armenia, various award-wining documentary works from past "Margaret Mead Film and Video" festivals will also be shown. The cooperative project seeks to expand the awareness of this internationally renowned documentary film festival here in Armenia and to stimulate cross-cultural exchange between documentary filmmakers here in Armenia and abroad. The New York "Margaret Mead Festival» is the largest and longest running premiere showcase of ethnographic documentary films in the United States. The American Museum of Natural History in New York founded the festival on the occasion of the 75th birthday of internationally acclaimed anthropologist Margaret Mead and to commemorate her fifty years of collaboration with the museum. The "Margaret Mead" festival is yearly event famous for its extensive scope in terms of content that highlights contemporary issues and problems in a unique cinematic fashion. On hand to present the films will be Ariella Ben-Dov, Artistic and Festival Director of the "Margaret Mead Film and Video Festival". In addition to Yerevan, the films will be shown in Gyumri and Kapan.
