The Press Office of the ROA Chief Prosecutor issued the following statement:

As of 1 AM on March 2, 2008, 15 people have been arrested as a result of residing calls to end public events and by failing to conform to the directives of the declared State of Emergency and for endangering the lives and welfare of representatives of the state.

The following citizens have been arrested on suspicion of violating ROA Criminal Code 225 Article 1, Section 2, and Article 316, Section 2:

Levon Khachatryan, Mushegh Saghatelyan, Davit Arakelyan, Vardges Vayotsyan, Masis Ayvazyan, Ashot Manukyan, Davit Matevosyan, Petros Shahbazyan, Tigran Baghdasaryan, Hovhannes Ghazaryan, Samvel Harutyunyan, Isahak Malkhasyan, Khachik Gasparyan and Avetik Nersisyan.

Preliminary investigations into the circumstances surrounding the events in question are taking place and the ROA Special Investigations Unit is taking all necessary steps to clarify the specific violations in question and the identity of otters who might have been involved as well and those responsible for the use of physical violence against officers of the police.
