Tigran Karapetyan, head of the Armenian People’s Party, declared at a press conference today that he didn’t expect anything to come out of the next face-to face meeting between Armenian President Sargsyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev scheduled for this year. "The two presidents met six times in 2009 and nothing happened. They can meet sixteen times in 2010 but it’s the same story. That Aliyev is like a crazy man demanding that Karabakh be returned to Azerbaijani control. He won’t accept anything less," stated Karapetyan. The party leader said that they would be staging a demonstration opposing the Protocols but that they will not be inviting other forces to join in the protest. "We have always stood on our principles. We are very serious on this matter and don’t pussyfoot around like some others."
