Hakob Chakryan: "Turkish Denialism is Wearing Thin"
Turkish studies expert Hakob Chakryan stated today that Armenians have been "waking up and sleeping with the Protocols ever since October 10 of last year, the day they were signed."
"Lately, he said, "we have been waking and sleeping with Obama’s every remark in our heads."
Mr. Chakryan said it was next to impossible to predict if President Obama would utter the word ‘genocide’ during his remarks regarding April 24. He said that Armenians shouldn’t be discouraged if the U.S. president doesn’t use the exact term since he employed the term ‘great calamity while in Turkish parliament and called on the country to resolutely come to grips with its past.
"Even if he doesn’t use the word, the denialist positions of Turkey have been exhausted, but there will be more April 24 commemorations after 2010. The Turks will face the same headache next year as well," Mr. Chakryan said.
