Gas Pipeline from Russia Damaged; Underground Reserves Tapped
Early this morning, a giant sinkhole damaged a portion of the Georgian gas pipeline in the Kazbek region. The pipe is used to transport gas from Russia to Armenia
It has been reported that gas supplies from Russia have been temporarily halted as a result. Repair work is presently underway and it is expected to last from 2-3 days. HayRusGazArd reports that gas from the underground reserve in Abovyan is being tapped to supply customers in Armenia.
