Education Ministry Says "No Comment" on Calcutta Academy Turmoil
The reaction of the RoA Ministry of Education and Science to the on-going problems at the Calcutta Armenian Philanthropic Academy clearly seems to be one of indecision – who to believe. Then too, the school falls under church jurisdiction.
When asked to comment, Artur Baghdasaryan, who heads the Ministry’s Public Affairs Department told Hetq that any official comment at this time would be "inappropriate" since the students are saying one thing and the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, another. He added that there is a possibility that a investigative team might be sent to Calcutta to study the matter.
