The Chances of Gagik Tsarukyan Becoming a “General”

Commenting on the recent statement made by BHK (Prosperous Armenia Party) leader Gagik Tsarukyan that his party has its sights on winning a 50+1 majority in the upcoming parliamentary elections, HHK MP Karen Avagyan today stated that the best retort is that given by Samvel Balasanyan, the newly elected National Assembly Deputy Chairman. Balasanyan has been quoted as saying that there is no soldier who doesn’t dream of becoming a general. "But not every soldier can become a general," MP Avagyan added. When asked if he meant that Tsarukyan couldn’t become a general, Avagyan back stepped bit and explained that what he had just said was a popular adage. He advised reporters to go ask Balasanyan. During to the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections in Armenia, Avagyan stated that in the past two years no political force has come to the fore strong enough to compete with the HHK. "Let me use a metaphor taken from the sports world. In sports there are different weight divisions. Today, the HHK is in the super weight class," said MP Avagyan.
