They are suing newspaper for 6 million AMD It appears that Bella and Sedrak Kocharyan, wife and son of former RA president Robert Kocharyan, are not satisfied with the retraction published by the newspaper Zhamanak on March 10. The two had sued the paper for an article alleging their ownership and involvement in a number of commercial enterprises, including a diamond mine in Namibia. At today’s preliminary trial session, attorneys for the Kocharyan’s said their clients weren’t satisfied with wither the wording or placement of the retraction. The plaintiffs are demanding a total of six million AMD in compensation for what they describe as defamation of character. Three million of the amount is payment for incurred legal fees.
