Tumanyan's Fairy Tales Performed In the Villages of Artsakh

Dedicated to Hovhannes Tumanyan's 145th anniversary,  the European Movement in Artsakh NGO with the financial support of the EU carried out a project called ''Fairy Tales of Peace'' in the mainly rural regions of Artsakh.

The project introduced the theatrical performances of  Hovhannes Tumanyan's tales to local residents.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Tumanyan undertook peace-building activities aimed at   reconciling Armenians and Caucasian Tatars (today’s Azeris).

Beginning in late March and continuining into April, the schoolchildren of Aygestan, Noragyugh and Astghashen villages of Askeran, as well as those of Karin Tak village of Shoushi and Shoushi itself attended performances by Yerevan's Mihr Theatre.

The project director is Diana Movsisyan and Tigran Grigoryan executive director.

European Movement in Artsakh NGO was founded by a group of young professionals in April 2010 in Stepanakert, tasked with making Artsakh known to the international non-governmental sector.
