Aragatzotn Regional Governor Sargis Sahakyan continues to use state funds to enrich his brother Nairi, founder and director of “Yes yev Na” Ltd. (Me and Him)

On June 12, the Aragatzotn Regional Administration (marzpetaran) signed two construction work deals with the company – one for 31.1 million AMD and the other for 66 million AMD.

The first stipulates that the company, as the contractor, must finish restoration work on the community school in Verin Bazmashen by November 30. According to the second, the company must renovate and reinforce the school in Yeghnik.

Hetq has covered such instances in the past when the Aragatzotn Governor has used his office to funnel funds to his brother.

On March 4, 2013, the company received a 49.5 million AMD contract to renovate the school in Nor Edesa. On the same day, Governor Sahakyan signed a 115 million AMD deal with his brother to renovate Public School #2 in Talin. 23 million was transferred to the company even before work had started.

A week later, the company was given two more multi-million AMD work contracts.

Years ago former Heritage Party MP Anahit Bakhshyan raised the alarm that the school renovation work done by the company was substandard.

Nothing has changed over time.

We should add that the deals struck on June 12 were entered into on a negotiated basis, without prior publication of purchase expenditures.
