Charles Aznavour was one of the dignitaries on hand at yesterday’s official opening of an Armenian consulate in Lyon, France.

Joined by Lyon Mayor Gérard Collomb and Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, Aznavour is seen here cutting the ribbon signaling the opening of the new diplomatic post.

The new consul is Nikolay Sarkisov, a Russian-Armenian with a current net worth of US$1.3 billion according to Forbes. This makes him the 96th wealthiest individual in Russia.

Forbes writes, “Nikolai Sarkisov, the younger brother of billionaire Sergei Sarkisov, oversees the largest clients at Sergei's insurance company, RESO-Garantiya.”
