Bagratashen Customs Officials Uncover Cell Phones, Laundry Detergent and Medicine
Armenia’s Ministry of Finance reports that officials at the Bagratashen customs checkpoint found 4.5 kilos of medicine, 21.5 kilos of bio-materials, and 65 packaged cell phones in the natural gas cylinder of a car being driven by a citizen of Armenia.
The ministry reports that officials at Bagratashen found 21 kilos of various medicines hidden in the trunk of another car driven by a citizen of Armenia. The medicine was said to have been purchased in Georgia.
When a passenger bus headed to Russia from Armenia was inspected, officials uncovered 28,000 cartons of cigarettes and one kilo of tobacco.
107.5 kilos of various laundry detergents was found in the trunk of another passenger car.
The Bagratashen border crossing with Georgia is located in Armenia’s Tavoush Province.
