Armenia’s Ministry of Transport and Communications reports that the Stepantsminda-Lars stretch of highways prior to the Georgian border with Russia has been closed to all traffic as of yesterday morning due to heavy rains.

The highway serves as a vital commercial link between Armenia and Russia.

The Georgian government says clean-up operations are ongoing.
